Let’s Stop Pretending We’re Not Burnt Out

This is your permission slip to step back, reset, and still move forward.

Let’s get really honest here—I’m writing this with a half-full mug of lukewarm coffee, in a hoodie I’ve worn three days in a row, with about 27 browser tabs open. I’m supposed to be checking off tasks. Instead, I’m sitting in that weird in-between space where I want to create but also kind of just want to nap.

Sound familiar?

If you’re a small business owner, creative, or anyone trying to build something meaningful—while also maintaining your sanity—you’ve probably felt it too. That slow, creeping feeling of burnout. The kind that doesn’t necessarily knock you over, but makes everything feel… heavier. Less joyful. A little blurrier around the edges.

And yet, we don’t always talk about it. We say things like,

“I just need to get through this launch.”

“I’ll rest after this project wraps.”

“It’s just a busy season.”

But what if the season never ends?

Burnout Isn’t Always Loud

Sometimes burnout isn’t crying on the bathroom floor (though, hey, no shame if that’s happened). Sometimes it’s subtle:

  • Dreading opening your laptop

  • Feeling guilty for not “doing more”

  • Losing the spark you used to have for your work

  • Saying “yes” when you want to scream “no”

I’ve been there. As a designer and business owner, I’ve had moments where everything just felt like a chore—even the parts I built this business to do. And that’s when I knew I had to step back and reevaluate not just my to-do list, but the way I was approaching my business and creativity.

And you know what helped? Not a productivity hack. Not a new planner. Permission.

Permission to pause. Permission to delegate. Permission to make things easier.

You’re Allowed to Make It Easier

This might be the part where you’re waiting for some big business breakthrough or “just push through it” moment—but what if the breakthrough is letting go of the pressure to be everything all at once?

One of the reasons I created Bella & Bloom was because I saw so many amazing people building beautiful brands—but burning themselves out trying to DIY every single thing.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m all for creativity and rolling up your sleeves—but I’m also for working smarter, not harder.

Let’s Make Business Feel Like Freedom Again

You started this dream for a reason. Probably not to be glued to your laptop or to spend hours Googling “how to make my website not look janky.” You wanted freedom. Flexibility. Fun, even.

That doesn’t mean every day will be easy—but it does mean you don’t have to do it all alone.

I’m here to help you bring your brand to life in a way that feels light, joyful, and you. Whether you’re ready to hand over the design reins, want to grab a stunning template and DIY with support, or just need to read posts like this and feel seen—I’ve got you.
